Recently we were asked to help a trailer park community in Brunswick that had lost access to fresh drinking water. We quickly worked to get multiple deliveries of bottled water to the park and ultimately were able to secure a large donation from Poland Springs to help the families waiting for reliable water from their landlord. This, at first, seemed to be outside the scope of a typical TEAN donation. However, there were over 100+ Brunswick school children in the community. And our mission statement continues to be that we will act urgently to help young people in need in our community. So while this request strayed from our typical asks (coats, boots, hats, clothes etc..) we found upon consideration, that it was also precisely within our scope. We act quickly and without the weight of bureaucracy to improve the lives of our youngest community members.
